Rip City Riders started out in the early 80’s with Rob Anello and Joe Brosman ripping up the Waldo Grade commuting to San Francisco every morning on their motorcycles. They wanted to gather a up a few guys for a group ride to Santa Cruz, so they sent out a few mailers and the word went out.

The first group picture was taken 1986, check it out! Most of the people in the picture are with us today and a few have passed on. The ride to Santa Cruz became an annual ride along with the Midnight ride to Lake Tahoe and some of the local events. Rip City Riders have been organizing charity runs for about 14 years, the first ride was for a brother with Hodgkin’s disease. Then we got invited to participate in the Toys for Tots program with the San Francisco Fire Fighters, each year the ride brought more bikers, both sides of 4th street in San Rafael were lined with bikes. What an awesome sight!! RCR also participated in the UCSF Children with HIV and now we have the annual Chilly Billy Memorial Run.

When Chilly passed away it was such a big loss for all of us and we wanted to do a ride in his honor. We tried for a scholarship program at Novato highs alternative school and that did not work out very well for us. So, we decided to donate to our local communities, helping our schools, helping the children of future America. We helped buy supplies for classroom with handicap children, sent a middle school on a field trip, helped with computers for an alternative high school and sent goodies from home to a troop in Iraq, which was very much appreciated.

It takes a lot of people to put on these events and we have our sponsors, who have been sponsoring us for many years! We would like to Thank You all for the support and hope you will continue your support. We would also like to thank all the bikers who have participated in the rides for the last 20 years. Enjoy and remember this is for CHARITY!
